Sunday, August 19th, 10pm ET/PT, is the time when Food Network's The Great Food Truck Race returns to kick off its third season of the cross-country culinary road trip. Together with host Tyler Florence, this season the competition take place between eight three-person teams, who are there to win the grand prize - the food truck they are using throughout the competition and $50 000 cash prize to start their dream business.
"We love food trucks because they offer a relatively low cost, infinitely creative route to entering the food world. Casting aspiring food truck owners this season really amps up the competition – these teams are literally fighting for their dream, " was said by Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Food Network.
The show will premiere after the finale of Chopped: Grill Masters on Sunday, August 19th at 10pm ET/PT. All other episodes will be airing on the show's regular timeslot Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.
The third season of The Great Food Truck Race is somewhat special, in the sense that current operators are no more. This season the battle for the victory is between eight three-person teams, all of whom want to start their own food truck business. The seven-episode season, the cross-country culinary road trip from Long Beach, Calif. lighthouse to West Quoddy Lighthouse in Maine, will put the participants to the test - their cooking skills, their road strategy, their mental toughness. Who will be victorious? Who will be going home with their own new food truck and $50 000 to start their dream business?
