Composer Marvin Hamlisch dies at 68


Marvin Hamlisch, one of the famous compose died at 68. He was the well-known personality in the file of composing. He was in the club of personalities who have been won Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, and a Tony Award. He was very famous for his musical theatre, film, and pops.


Marvin Hamlisch was suffering from brief illness. He died at his home located in the Los Angeles, California.


He was a good composer by profession and he used to start mimicking in the age of five. He attended Queens College and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1967. He used to play piano.


He was best known for his work A Chorus Line and movies The Way We Were and The Sting. He was a great prolific arranger and conductor. He received several awards for his great job and also nominated in various too. He won four Emmys as well as three Academy Awards. He won Grammys and Tony too. In the year 209, he received Lifetime Achievement Award for his great contribution.


His first Academy award came in the year 1973 and the category was Best Original Dramatic Score - The Way We Were. He performed in various theatres.


His best work came in The Sting, The Way We Were, The Spy Who Loved Me, Same Time Next Year, Ice Castles, A Chorus Line, Shirley Valentine, and The Mirror Has Two Faces.
