Elvis 'too masculine' to be a girl's name?
London, June 4 (ANI): A Swedish couple has got entangled into a battle with the authority that vets newborns' names over calling their daughter 'Elvis'.
The National Tax Board had ordered the couple to change the five-year-old girl's name, insisting that it was masculine and inappropriate as a first name for a woman.
The suggestion, however, did not go down well with the girl's parents.
"We thought it was both pretty and gender-neutral. We're not Elvis Presley fans at all," the Scotsman quoted the child's mother, Linda Leinfeldt, as saying.
Linda and her husband have appealed against the decision of the National Tax Board.
They have even cited a case of last year, wherein a couple was allowed to keep the name of their daughter Metallica, which is also a heavy metal band. (ANI)
