All-time Lowe for Hilary Swank

Actress Hilary Swank has announced she is to divorce from her husband, Chad Lowe.

Having separated in January, a fairytale reunion is not on the cards, despite a statement at the time claiming that the couple would try their best to patch up their differences.

Unfortunately, as Swank confirmed today, they have failed in that attempt and has filed for divorce to end their 13-year relationship.

'Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe have jointly decided to divorce,' their attorney said in a statement.

'They continue to be friends and have the utmost respect for one another.'

The most famous moment of their relationship came at the 2005 Oscar ceremony when Swank forgot to thank her husband for his support – prompting immediate tears from the distraught Lowe.

While Swank, who has won two Best Actress Oscars for her performances in Boys Don't Cry and Million Dollar Baby, plans on continuing her acting career in next year's The Black Dahlia, Emmy-award winning Lowe has chosen to branch into directing for his next project.
