The Hague, May 30 (DPA) A political party founded around a campaign to legalize sex between adults and children is about to be formed in the Netherlands, reports said Tuesday.
The party Neighbourly Love, Freedom and Diversity (NVD) would grow out of the paedophile movement Martijn, reported the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper, adding the party hoped to field candidates in parliamentary elections expected in 2007.
The party's platform would be to make paedophilia acceptable in Dutch society, by pushing for a change to the law banning sexual relations with children under 16. The party is seeking a minimum age of consent of 12.
Children should receive sex education at an early age as bans just created greater curiosity, the paper quoted an NVD spokesman as saying.
The party also advocates allowing children aged 12 and over to act in pornographic films, smoke, consume alcohol and vote in elections.
