Colombo, June 6 (Xinhua) At least two civilians were injured when two claymore mines exploded early Tuesday near a navy installation close to the Sri Lankan capital, said a navy official.
'The explosions hit the rear end of a bus at Welisara, 15 km north of Colombo, around 4:30 a.m.' said navy spokesman D.K.P. Dassanayake.
'The bus driver and his helper suffered minor injuries,' he said. There were no passengers on the bus when the explosion occurred.
Prasad Samarasinghe, the military spokesman, accused the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) of carrying out the explosions.
He said the Tamil rebels had actually targeted navy vehicles as the camp was located next to the CTB bus stand.
The explosions come just two days ahead of talks in Oslo between the Tigers and the government to discuss issues concerning the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) - the 60-member Nordic group.
More than 64,000 people have been killed in violence from the mid-1980s to February 2002 when a Norwegian-brokered truce came into force.
