Tendulkar hits another ton for Lashings

London, June 27 (IANS) Sachin Tendulkar, recovering from a shoulder injury, slammed his second century in five days while batting for Lashings World XI against Reigate Priory Cricket Club of Surrey in a charity match.

Tendulkar, who has been recuperating here following his shoulder operation in March, scored 147 before retiring.

Apart from Tendulkar, 33, Lashings captain Richie Richardson, a former West Indies skipper, made 95 to enable Lashings declare the innings at 292 for four wickets off 41.3 overs at Reigate, Surrey, Sunday.

Reigate Priory made 197 for seven wickets in 51 overs. Jon Gale was the top scorer with an unbeaten 64 and Aleks Richards scored 31.

Tendulkar, who is planning a return to the Indian team during a one-day triangular series in Sri Lanka in August with South Africa being the third team, had scored 155 for Lashings Wednesday.

His injury had come to light when the Indian cricket board announced the team for the home one-day series against England, in Mumbai March 21.

Initially, it was said that he would miss competitive cricket for eight weeks. He missed the seven-match home one-day international series against England and the two one-dayers against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.

He, however, also missed the ongoing tour to the West Indies, comprising five one-day internationals and four Tests.
