Sreesanth gets bruised at nets

Kingston (Jamaica), June 29 (IANS) India's opening bowler Sreesanth took a nasty blow on his helmet while batting during Wednesday's net session.

He was unable to get out of the way of a short ball from Munaf Patel. He was seen sitting in the pavilion of the Melbourne Oval, where the Indian team had its work-out, sobbing in pain and holding an ice-pack to his head, with masseur Mane, physio John Gloster and coach Greg Chappell all ministering to him in turns.

Sreesanth got back into field after a while and had a good, long bowl. Chappell later said that there was nothing seriously wrong with him.

'He (Sreesanth) is okay,' said Chappell. 'He' got a lump on his head and a bruised ego. That's all.'

Chappell added all Indian players were available for selection for the fourth Test starting on Friday and that, as the team management has said before all the Tests, that the best eleven would be chosen after seeing the pitch and taking into account all factors.

Chappell also said that the Test was the last match of the tour and 'we would like to finish the tour on a good note. Whatever we do on the first day, we need to start well.'
