Cruise's birthday connection

New York, July 4 (IANS) Director Oliver Stone has told friends that Tom Cruise won the lead role in 'Born On The Fourth Of July' by telling him that he was born on July 3 and that it was 'karma' for him to get the part.

According to pagesix.com, Stone was initially thrilled with the coincidence but later regretted casting Cruise because in spite of good critical reviews it failed at the box office.

Stone was also disappointed that Cruise didn't talk about his birthday while promoting the movie because he feared it would lead reporters to find out his real name - Mapother.
