London, July 9 (IANS) Actor Mickey Rourke has been undergoing therapy for nine years to help him cope with the loss of his career, his second wife and his home.
According to contactmusic.com, Rourke went through a major slump in his career when he turned down great roles in films like 'Pulp Fiction', 'Rain Man' and 'Platoon'. He is still in therapy though he has had a boost in his career recently with films like 'Man On Fire' and 'Sin City'.
He said: 'I thought I'd be in therapy for six months, but nine years later, I am still at it. I thought I'd only need a short time to change, but here I am still going once a week. When I lost my career, my wife, my house, I used to go up to three times a week for about five years, because I had nothing else to do.'
