Coldplay’s latest stage show will feature the release of butterflies from “magic balls”

The British rockers, who are about to embark on a tour of Europe to promote their new album ‘Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends’ have revealed the details of their elaborate concerts.

Lead singer Chris Martin said: “It’s like a light show you’ve never seen before. We have some magic balls in our concert. We rehearsed yesterday with them and it was diabolical, it turned out very Spinal Tap.

“We did a run through recently which was atrocious but then we did one which was really good, so if you’ve bought your ticket for our tour, it’s a bit of a lottery!”

The band’s drummer Will Champion added that the balls will release confetti butterflies.

He said: “We will have confetti butterflies. Those are fantastic. They burst out of the spheres. I think that’s enough, we can say there are confetti butterflies.”
